Marion contains the idea of conjuring the forces of Nature which cannot be contained by rational definition. Using the 'Cognoscenti in a Room hung with Pictures' from the Flemish School, c. 1620, Lauren peeled away the walls of renaissance certainty. |

When the early sketches for Marion were still proving too static, Lauren knew she had to confront the portrayal of renaissance certainty in the defining powers of the arts and sciences with elemental forces of nature.
She intensified and combined this digitally captured cloudscape with her main image in Adobe Photoshop®, using layer masks to provide fine control over the interplay between the two worlds
